hey, I'm nadine!

After years of being a henna artist, designs started to feel like they were stuck on repeat so I decided to shake things up. Inspired by how real tattoo artists use stencils, I created a whole new way to do temporary tattoos—simple enough for anyone to master. And so ensued this passion project to draw more awareness and demand to temporary tattoos & sprout more artists out of it.

Albeit it was a witchy themed bachelorette not halloween, still fits the occasion.

Temp Tattoo Stories: Meet @lifeofjayfit_ – dope creator + soon-to-be personal trainer. We first crossed paths at the gym & while I was mentally preparing for another round of “I could’ve not left the house today”, Jay’s friendly face made it a little more bearable.

Jay’s already rocking some pretty sick ink but has been debating the bold move of a neck tattoo—just not quite ready to commit. So, I was like, “Why not take it for a test drive?”

Cue a banter-filled appointment and by the end, we were swapping fitness and creator stories like a TV without an off-switch.

Now the million dollar question: Should Jay go for the permanent neck tat?

Food is my love language - I’m basically a golden retriever in human form. So when @wingstopcanada & @v_eventsto asked me to do temp tattoos at their event, it was a “heck yes!”.

We whipped up chicken-wing-themed tattoo designs, repping their flavours like spicy chilli and Hawaiian tenders. Bonus: they hooked me up with Wingstop swag and... there was a ranch fountain. Yes, a fountain!

A good enough excuse to shamelessly stuff myself with one wing after the other (not that I ever need an excuse).

Major props to @vashtitash_ & @_wycg for making it all happen.

Summer Deserves a Speeding Ticket ☼

With summer rushing past faster than an Amazon Prime delivery, the hubby & I decided to soak up every last bit by heading to Sugar Beach for a spur-of-the-moment picnic date. As a hot-blooded Egyptian, I use the term “beach” pretty loosely—it’s more like a life-sized sandpit for adults, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers.

I couldn’t resist bringing along my temporary tattoo kit. I’m always practicing on myself, turning my body into a living sketchbook. To my amusement, what started as a few curious stares (probably wondering what kind of sorcery I was up to) ended up drawing some lovely strangers to my page. Not a bad trade-off for being the "weird lady that’s drawing on herself."

I’m toying with the idea of popping over to Trinity Bellwoods on Sunday (29 Sept) to dish out some free tatts— why not spread the love while the weather’s still cooperating? What do you think? Slide into my DMs if you’d like one.

Summer Deserves a Speeding Ticket ☼

(Save for Later) When I was a henna artist, I felt limited by the same henna patterns. Like being stuck in a loop of the same designs—similar to “accidentally” binge-watching the same Netflix series over & over again.

And so I wondered, could I get a stain using stencils like tattoo artists do, without the permanent “oops”?

After plenty of trial and error (and a few ink-covered hands), I cracked the code. With my henna-art transferrable skills, a Jagua cone (temporary tattoo “ink”), a couple of stencils & a little Pinterest inspiration, it opened the door for infinite design possibilities beyond what I could freehand.

When I got the call from @fooddudes to join their event, I felt like I’d just been invited to the Oscars of the Toronto hospitality scene—minus the red carpet but with way more delicious food.

What really warmed me (and boosted my ego, let’s be honest) was seeing how everyone lit up when they discovered the temporary tattoo booth. It was like we’d set up a secret candy store at a dentist convention—pure joy sprinkled with a little mischief.

I’m a sucker for themes & dedication to thought-out costumes, and I was destined with the mission to turn Dan into a Tokyo Maji Gang Member (from the anime show Tokyo Revengers).

We kindled over our shameless parallel COVID weight gain & sheer obsession over our pet children (yes they are children!).

Wanna know what the cooler thing is? Dan creates pretty badass geometry work (check it out: @sacredgeometryartworks )

It seems both him & I have this habit of picking up hobbies & skills, only to be bored sheer seconds later like filing for taxes.

We arranged a meet up a year ago last summer, when I was feeling a little coy about charging for my temp tattoo work, so she gleefully donated her body as my canvas.

Now honestly the design was just a Frankenstein of stamps I purchased from @creativemarket, but for a sort-of-temp-tattoo-beginner-ish - it wasn’t so bad? Obviously I look at this a year later with a microscopic eye of all the flaws (lol).

She surprised me with a chocolate bar & if anyone knows me can vouch if I ever got a genie, I’d waste my 3 wishes on life-size jars of Nutella. It also cutely matched the outfit I was wearing that day - a sign I took to consume the whole thing in a shameless one sitting.

Anyway, how did I do?
